The Victorian Endurance Riders Association Inc. (VERA) respects your privacy. This page explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and how you can contact us about it. VERA is a volunteer-run incorporated association, and we aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email a committee member or officer, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry.
- Website usage information. Like most websites, we may collect general statistics about how the site is used — such as which pages are visited, the type of device or browser, and your approximate location. We use this to understand what is useful and to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors.
- Cookies. The site uses cookies for essential functions and for the statistics described above. When you first visit, a notice lets you accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through your browser settings.
Membership and ride entries
Membership, ride entries and results are handled through AERA’s systems (AERAOnline and AERASpace), not through this website. Personal information you give when joining or entering a ride is collected and managed by AERA under its own policies. This website does not have member logins and does not store membership or payment details.
Contact details published on this site
The names, roles and contact details of the committee, officers and volunteers listed on this site are published so members and the public can reach the right person. Email addresses and phone numbers are displayed in a way that makes them harder for automated programs to collect. If you are listed and would like your details changed or removed, please tell us and we will update them promptly.
Photos and results
We may publish photos of people and horses taken at VERA events, and the names of riders in results and awards. If you would like a photo of you or your child removed, contact us and we will remove it.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including AERA, AERAOnline and our Facebook group. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Keeping information secure
We take reasonable steps to keep the website and any information sent to us secure, and we only keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected.
