The VERA SMC would like to congratulate the following horse and rider combinations for being selected onto the VERA Quilty Team 2019:

  • Wendy Riha and Bullio Gebreselassie
  • Tanya Beacham and Creswick Magdaleenah
  • Kim Noble and Mizzi Cougar
  • Renee Henry on Cadenza Supernatural

The reserve combination is Gina Thompson and Henley Farm Islah.

Thanks also to the other combinations who submitted their applications but were not successful on this occasion. We had 9 nominations for the team, which made it a very hard job for the selectors to pick a team.

We wish all the riders in the team a very successful outcome. You have some very big footsteps to follow in from the Tasmanian Quilty but we have confidence in your abilities.

VERA Quilty Team Update: Following the Great Western ride Kim Noble has withdrawn her nomination from the VERA Quilty Team as her nominated horse will not be travelling to the Quilty now. Commiserations to Kim on this decision. Gina Thompson, who was the reserve rider, will now be part of the team. The selectors have approached Steve Blackhurst to step into the reserve rider position and he has accepted. Good luck to the VERA Quilty Team in their attempt to take back to back wins.
